Designed and manufactured in Germany, Chalice downlights are available in three cut-out sizes, multiple lumen packages, and a choice of three reflector finishes. The core Chalice range has an impressive IP54 ingress protection from water, dust and dirt as standard with an optional ultrasonically welded polycarbonate cover that extends protection up to IP65.

A range of three highly durable recessed downlights form a key part of Thorn’s third generation Chalice family. Sizes comprise of 100, 150 and 200 mm cut-out diameter, all with a maximum recessed depth of no more than 100 mm so that the downlights can even be installed in narrow ceiling voids. This is complemented by the significant benefit of ingress protection from moisture, dust and dirt, rated IP54 across the range as standard and additionally all rated to IK09 shock resistance. Offering an energy-efficient replacement for halogen, fluorescent and early-generation LED downlights with up to 155 lm/W and a 50,000-hour lifetime (L90), Chalice luminaires provide great performance while keeping running and maintenance costs low.

VERSATILE REFLECTOR FINISHES TO FIT ANYWHERE.

A choice of three reflector finishes (Satinbrite, Mirrorbrite and White) help to make Chalice recessed downlights a fit-anywhere luminaire. The Mirrorbrite reflector is ideal for workplace areas where glare control is especially significant, and this finish enables the three sizes of Chalice to meet tough UGR 19 demands.

Downlights with IP65 Protection for Wet and Demanding Spaces

As an option, the recessed Chalice downlights can be supplied with an ultrasonic welded polycarbonate cover that provides enhanced protection from water, dust and dirt, rated IP65. This unique feature minimises weight and cost and allows the downlights to be installed into new areas such as bathrooms, wet rooms, food preparation areas and under-canopy ceilings.
