Creating an Inspiring Learning Space

Ladyloan Primary School in Arbroath, Scotland, was developed as part of the £1.8 billion Schools for the Future Programme. The project aimed to provide a modern, inclusive, and energy-efficient learning environment. With 11 classrooms, early years’ facilities, GP rooms, and an ASN unit, the school was designed to enhance student engagement while minimizing environmental impact.

Innovative LED Solutions for Efficiency and Comfort

To ensure high-quality lighting, Thorn Lighting installed advanced LED luminaires throughout the school. IQ Wave delivers low-glare, uniform lighting in classrooms to support focus and well-being. Offices are equipped with Beta Office panels, while Cetus LED downlights illuminate corridors and toilets. HiPak Pro LED high bays provide bright, efficient lighting in the gym, and Duoproof LED fixtures maintain hygiene in kitchen areas.

Energy Savings and Long-Term Performance

Sustainable lighting solutions, such as PopPack LED and Olsys exterior lanterns, significantly reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs. As Gemma Boggs from Scottish Futures Trust highlighted, Ladyloan Primary School stands as a prime example of innovative school design, delivering long-lasting benefits for students, staff, and the wider community.
